We have spent the last 4 years perfecting our filtration, sanitation and maintenance procedures. We have found a combination of treatment, testing and regular maintenance is the best practice for any float centre.
City Cave’s Float Pool - How it works from a filtration perspective.
Each session begins with the user instructed to shower first, removing any body oils, gels, moisturisers and any foreign objects like cotton from clothing etc. The user then will carefully step into the float pool lay back and enjoy the session.
400 kgs of Epsom salts has proven to be an extremely harsh environment for bacteria or viruses to survive. The float industry has been commercially operating for 40 years and still to date there has been no cases of any serious injury or any case relating to death.
Once the float session is over, the user will then carefully leave the pool and step back in the shower to clean the salt off the body. This cues the staff between sessions to turn on the vigorous filtration process - in fact, at City Cave our filtration system is designed for a 20,000 litre pool but attached to our 1,000 float pool. So you could say we have over engineered it but we take our clients safety very seriously.
The filters turn the full body of water over a minimum of 15 times in between clients and our filters are swapped twice a week from our local pool supplier - See part 2 for testing and sanitation.
City Cave’s Float Pool - How we test and sanitise our pools.
Each centre use a local pool supplier to change the filters in the pools twice a week. Generally on a Monday after a busy weekend and a Friday. Their routine visits are to change the filters, check our dosage charts and do any further testing or dosage based on the information they acquire.
Our sanitation procedure is outlined in the image and also a chart of what one of our centres look like. Our sanitation procedure is currently conducive with AS and proud to say that we work very hard to keep our pools clean with minimal to no chemicals to maintain this standard.
General Centre Hygiene
Overall we want a clean and safe environment for all staff and customers to enjoy City Cave as a place to relax and not worry about the stresses of normal day to day life.
In all of our cleaning products we try our very best to be conscious of the environment and also conscious of a health standard above the rest. A combination of the two mind sets and in depth staff training has been a testament to all of our centres success.
We believe a clean cave is a full cave - we really appreciate any feedback on how we can improve.
