The Perfect Pair for Deep Relaxation

Combining massage therapy with floatation therapy brings new benefits to the table. Floating before your massage speeds up the process of your muscles relaxing, which gives the massage therapist more time with already loose muscles. Floating after your massage is also beneficial as it further cares for the problem areas that may have been targeted in your session.

+ Remedial Massage

Available upon request.

We often get asked "What is remedial massage therapy? How is it different from a 'regular' massage?"

The answer lies in the way they are performed. A remedial massage is not just for relaxation; it can be used to treat a variety of muscular conditions, as well as pain and certain injuries.

Your remedial massage therapist is highly trained, and combines a variety of therapeutic techniques such as manual and trigger point therapies, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release and deep tissue massage.

Each of our therapists are trained to assess your body, observe changes over time, and design an individual treatment plan to assist with any identified issues. You will not only feel relaxed, but your general well-being, joint function and circulation will be improved, your pain reduced and your damaged tissue repaired.

Remedial massage therapy is designed to find the cause of the problem and treat it as well as the symptoms. Apart from the above results, it may also help with:

  • Headaches
  • Bad posture
  • Hip and back pain related to pregnancy
  • Lower back, shoulder and neck pain
  • Sporting injuries
  • Restricted breathing
  • Restricted movement

If you've been injured while playing sports, remedial massage (especially when combined with our floatation therapy) is an excellent way to aid your recovery and get you back to doing what you love.

While remedial massage therapy can, at times, be uncomfortable, you should not experience high levels of pain. Be sure that you are honest and advise your therapist of any pain you experience, so that they can adjust their techniques. We will check in with you periodically, but do not be afraid to speak up. We want you to feel the full benefits of your remedial massage, and pain is counterintuitive to what we are working to achieve.

Whether you're located in Newstead, the CBD or anywhere else in Brisbane, try remedial massage therapy at City Cave today. Help your body heal and recover faster, with an individualised remedial massage treatment plan devised by one of our expert therapists.
